SEDAP PLACE IS HALAL CERTIFIED
“Sedap” is how we’d say “delicious” in Malaysia – and this is exactly what we at Sedap Place would like to be known for. At our restaurant in East Victoria Park, we endeavour to introduce you to the wonderful world of Malaysian cuisine by showcasing its complex and robust flavours in every dish. Bring your friends and family down to enjoy some of the best tasting food and warmest hospitality you’ll find in Perth. We’re located on the Albany Highway and are open for lunch and dinner, seven days a week.
We are BYO too!
We look forward to serving you!
If you’ve ever step foot onto Malaysian soil, chances are you’ll understand why we Malaysians love our food. In fact, we love our food so much that we’d travel the extra mile to the famous foodie states like Ipoh, Penang or Kuala Lumpur just to have that famous Curry Laksa, Char Koay Teow or Nasi Lemak. We have so many different kinds of delicious food scattered around town, it’s no wonder we spend so much time on the road just for meals! And it is this love for Malaysia’s food and culture that gave birth to the idea of
“a restaurant that reminds Malaysians of home”
in Western Australia.
The name Sedap Place came about because we wanted a name that is homely, fun and modern. Sedap (pronounced Ser-Dup), which means tasty in the Malaysian language, was decidedly the best word to represent our Malaysian identity. However, we also wanted to make sure that everyone would feel equally at home, hence, the English word “Place” was incorporated in to the brand name. By combining both Sedap and Place together, we hope that everyone from different cultures and background can come together and enjoy really sedap food at their favourite makan place (hang out place).”
At Sedap Place, we’re all about good food; and we also want to spread and share the amazing Malaysian food culture while satisfying that hungry bellies of yours. Be prepared to be blown away by our secret recipe Nasi Lemak, Curry Laksa Volcano, flavoursome Curry Chicken, frothy Teh Tarik, and Milo Dinosaur, just to name a few. We’ll even show you the real way of eating Roti Canai and Nasi Lemak, with your hands, so that you may enjoy the experience to the max!
Our aim is to recreate a modern makan place in Australia, where everyone gets to experience Malaysian culture while enjoying authentic delicious kopitiam and mamak cuisine.
Come on, Jom Makan (Let’s eat and hang out), and you’ll see why we’re everybody’s favourite fun, modern, yet authentic Malaysian restaurant!
Brought together by a bunch of foodies and food lovers. We miss Malaysian culture and “brotherhood”, atmosphere, fun, respectful, brother, macha, boss (don’t be surprise if our staff address you as boss), good ambience where ppl can enjoy good company, and good food. We focus on the dining experience. WE laugh and cry food
